Contra as Corridas Picadas/Touros de Morte

Está em curso uma recolha de apoio a uma campanha contra as corridas picadas e os touros de morte nos Açores. Se está de acordo com o texto abaixo, envie-nos um mail indicando o seu nome, profissão, concelho de residência ou país.

Não à sorte de varas nem aos touros de morte nos Açores

Apelo a todos os cidadãos e cidadãs e a todas as organizações ambientalistas/ecologistas e de defesa dos animais
Depois de várias tentativas frustradas de introduzir na ilha Terceira corridas picadas e touros de morte, tem-se assistido nos últimos anos a uma imposição das touradas à corda em ilhas onde não há qualquer tradição, como Santa Maria ou São Miguel, com a conivência ou apoio governamental ou autárquico.
Numa altura que as vozes de sempre aproveitando a revisão constitucional de 2004 e o novo Estatuto Político dos Açores, se preparam para fazer aprovar, na Assembleia Legislativa Regional, legislação que legalize a sorte de varas e depois os touros de morte, um grupo de cidadãos e cidadãs decidiu começar a luta em defesa dos direitos dos animais de que as touradas são uma parte do problema.
Considerando que não é aceitável que nenhum animal seja torturado para entretenimento do ser humano. Considerando que todo o acto que implique a morte de um animal, sem necessidade, é um biocídio, ou seja, um crime contra a vida (Artigo 11º da Declaração Universal dos Direitos dos Animais). Considerando ainda que os direitos dos animais devem ser defendidos pela Lei, assim como o são os direitos do homem (Artigo 14º) e por acreditarmos que a evolução cultural irá sobrepor-se à tradição e à ignorância, vimos manifestar a nossa profunda discordância com a referida pretensão e apelar para que:
1- Não sejam promovidas nem apoiadas, com recurso a dinheiros públicos, touradas à corda, nas ilhas onde tal prática não é tradição;
2- Não venham a ser legalizadas as corridas picadas e os touros de morte, por serem alheias à nossa cultura, na Região Autónoma dos Açores.
3- Seja aprovada legislação regional de protecção dos animais que tenha em consideração o disposto na legislação europeia e na Declaração Universal dos Direitos dos Animais que foi proclamada em 15 de Outubro de 1978 e aprovada pela Unesco.


Wir sagen Nein zur Quälerei und zum Abschlachten vom Stieren auf den Azoren!


Nach mehreren erfolglosen Versuchen, Stierkämpfe auf der Insel Terceira durchzuführen, konnte man in den letzten Jahren beobachten, wie mit großer Unterstützung der azorischen Autonomieregierung die Einführung von Stierrennen mit dem Seil (wie auf der Insel Terceira) auf Inseln propagiert wurde, auf denen keinerlei Tradition dieser Praktik besteht, wie zum Beispiel auf São Miguel und Santa Maria.Die momentane Revision des politischen Statutes der Azoren von 2004 wird dazu genutzt, um eine Legalisierung des gegebenenfalls auch tötlich endenen Stierkampfes vorzubereiten. Um das zu verhindern, hat sich eine Gruppe von Bürgerinnen und Bürgern entschlossen, für die Rechte der Tiere zu kämpfen.Unter Berücksichtigung, dass kein Tier zu Unterhaltunszwecken des Menschen gequält werden darf und dass ein Akt, der einzig auf die Tötung eines Tieres ausgelegt ist, ohne dass dies notwenig ist, als Mord, das heisst als Verbrechen gegen das Leben betrachtet wird (gemäß Universelle Erklärung der Tierrechte, Artikel 11), müssen Tierschutzrechte, genauso wie die Menschrechte (Artikel 14) per Gesetz festgeschrieben werden, weil wir daran glauben, dass die kulturelle Entwicklung sich über Tradition und Ignoranz hinwegsetzt. Deshalb erklären wir hiermit unsere tiefe Abneigung gegenüber dem oben erwähnten Bestreben und apellieren dafür, dass:1- Stierrennen mit dem Seil auf den Inseln auf denen keine Tradition dieser Praktik besteht weder gefördert noch mit öffentlichen Geldern unterstützt werden;2- Stierkämpfe mit und ohne tötlichem Ende nicht legalisiert werden, weil sie der azorianischen Kultur fremd sind;3- eine regionale Gesetzgebung zum Schutz der Rechte der Tiere verabschiedet wird, die sich an den Vorschriften den europäischen Gesetzen und der Universellen Erklärung der Tierrechte orientiert, die am 15. No to the stabbing and slaughtering of bulls in the Azores Islands

At a time when some people taking advantage of a change in the 2004 constitution concerning the Political Statute of the Azores are preparing to persuade the Azores Legislative Assembly to legalize stabbing and slaughtering the bulls a group of citizens have decided to fight to defend animal rights including these bullfights which are part of the problem.Considering that it is unacceptable for any animal to be tortured for human entertainment. Considering that any act that includes the needless death of any animal is biocide or a crime against life (Article II of the Universal Declaration of Animal Rights). Considering that animal rights should be defended by law, just as Human Rights ( Article 14) and as we believe that cultural evolution will replace tradition and ignorance we wish to show our total disagreement with this intention and so appeal that:
1- That street rope bullfights should not be approved nor supported by public funds on islands where they are not traditional.
2- That stabbing and slaughtering bulls, not being part of our tradition or culture should not be legalized in The Autonomous Region of the Azores.
3- That regional legislation for the protection of animals should be approved, considering the European Legislation and the Universal Declaration of Animal Rights that was proclaimed on the 15 th of October, 1978 and approved by Unesco.

URGENTE - PETICIÓN CONTRA LA INTRODUCCIÓN DE PICADORES Y TOROS DE MUERTE- AÇORES, PORTUGAL

Amig(a)os,La suerte de varas o corridas con picadores está prohíbida por legislación nacional en Portugal.Pero, después de una revisión en el estatuto autonómico de las Islas de Açores el parlamento de Açores puede ahora legislar sus propias leyes.Así no solamente pueden introducir la suerte de varas como también los toros de muerte, o sea las corridas españolas.La Asociación Terra Livre Açores esta colectando firmas en contra la introducción de corridas a española en los Açores.

Por favor apoyen esta petición no podemos permitir la introducción de picadores y toros de muerte en Açores.
